The Grande Maumelle Sailing Club is excited to announce the start of the long-awaited seawall repair project at Kiko’s Corner. Construction is scheduled to begin on January 2, 2025, weather permitting, with the project expected to take approximately three weeks. This initiative will reinforce the crane area’s seawall and improve its resilience for years to come.

To prepare for this significant undertaking, the club will host a work party on Saturday, December 14, to install silt fencing and clear the area of boats, trailers, and materials. Pizza will be provided at 11:30 a.m., and work begins at noon.

“Our members have worked hard to get us to this point, and now it’s time to take the next step,” said Commodore Mary Michaels. “This seawall repair is a vital investment in our club’s infrastructure, and I’m grateful for everyone’s support as we move forward.”

Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves and safety glasses to help with the preparation. Your efforts will ensure the project starts smoothly and on schedule.

Please note, Kiko’s Corner, including the crane and surrounding areas, will be closed from December 15 through February 28 for construction. Members are urged to complete any boat-related tasks in this area before the closure.

For updates on the project, contact Commodore Mary Michaels, check the GMSC event calendar, and follow this space for additional announcements.
