Grande Maumelle Sailing Club (GMSC) has made it easier than ever for skippers and crew to connect with the launch of the new online Crew List. Developed in response to member feedback, this tool addresses the challenge of matching boat owners with eager sailors.
Whether you’re an experienced skipper preparing for a regatta or a beginner ready to dive into the sport, the Crew List simplifies the process and gets you on the water faster.
The Crew List, a feature of the Racing section on GMSC.org, is now live and accessible from any desktop or mobile device. To get started:
- Go to GMSC.org.
- Click on the Racing tab in the main menu.
- Select the Crew List to sign up or submit a Crew Wanted Request.
The system is designed to meet the needs of skippers and crew alike:
- Crew Sign-Up: Open to the public, this form allows prospective crew members to share their details. The information is reviewed and added to a list accessible to members.
- Crew Wanted Requests: Skippers can log in to submit requests for crew members, whether for a regatta or casual sailing. These requests are distributed to members via the website.
To view reports or submit Crew Wanted Requests, members must log in. However, the Crew Sign-Up List is publicly accessible, making it a great way for newcomers to get involved.
As one member shared, “I’m new to sailing and want to crew. How do I connect with skippers?” This list bridges that gap, turning curiosity into action and welcoming new participants into the sailing community.
