Memorial Day Regatta

May 23rd and 24th

We’re ready to host this Spring's annual centerboard event over this Memorial Day Weekend. Join us for the 2026 Memorial Day Regatta on Lake Maumelle. A GMSC tradition that blends great racing with classic clubhouse camaraderie. Racing begins Saturday, followed by dinner at the clubhouse, and continues Sunday with the same Noon Harbor signal time. Awards social to follow racing.

This regatta is open to club members and guests sailing Y-Flyers, Flying Scots, and Hobie fleets.  There will be no skippers meeting due to the activity at the crane. The only item out of the ordinary may be how the RC could set a first course of the day with an offset mark. There will be no fee for this event.

It’s always a fun weekend with racing and the regatta dinner.
Grab your crew and register now to be part of it!

The lake level is just over 82ft at the primary Maumelle River gauge. This is down around 5 feet from normal. The launch ramp is not usable, but our crane has been serviced and is functioning well. We've even trained a new group of crane operators to help the process run more smoothly. Please launch as early as possible to ease bottlenecks as we'll be craning in/out many boats. Consider leaving it at the dock or slip overnight Saturday if the weather is suitable.

We are now able to drive over to WestRock with our masts up for those who'd prefer to avoid the crane. Let us know if you'd like to get a tow out away from the free public dock. Paddling or sculling may be sufficient if the wind is in your favor.

Check in with your crew and get on board! Don't have a ride? Come help on the race committee! Volunteer link is on the registration page.

After conferring with the racing fleets, we've agreed to waive all registration fees for this event! Thankfully we have some new volunteers cheffing up a cheeseburger dinner for us Saturday. It’s always a fun weekend with racing and the regatta dinner.

Grab your crew and register now to be part of it. We hope to see you there!

Hawg Wild Update
Many thanks to everyone's help hosting a successful Hawg Wild Regatta. Originally conceived as a Y-Flyer event. This in no way detracts from our other Razorback fleets, go Hogs! This alternate date proved helpful for travelling competitors. Next year promises to be better yet!

Here are the results:
