Volunteering Opportunities

Job assignments will be made on the day of the event depending on the the number of volunteers available and experience level. New volunteers are welcome, training will be provided. •Recorder: Writes sail numbers/finish times. •Timer: Keeps time during starts, recording leg times and finish times if required. •Flags: Posts the race information before the start sequence, hoist start signal flags as required, and recall flags after the start if necessary. Also, track requirements of other timed flags (flags up or down, etc.) •RC Boat Crew: A person generally available to do various tasks on the boat, like help anchors the boat, assist if other boats come alongside (fenders, lines, etc.), move tow lines, inflate marks, etc.

A two-person team of a driver and assistant is assigned to set marks and assist racers as needed.

Backup Fleet RC volunteers are fleet members and crew assigned to work when non-racing volunteers fill only some of the required race committee job slots.

After-Race Social Host – Volunteer Responsibilities As the Host for an After-Race Social, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming space for sailors to unwind after racing. It’s a fun, low-pressure role—and you won’t be doing it alone. Most guests are happy to lend a hand, and you can always recruit a co-host. Here’s what’s involved: Arrive early and open the clubhouse so everything’s ready when the fleet returns. Provide snacks for about 30 people—light bites, appetizers, or desserts are all welcome. Set up drinks and refreshments. Most guests bring their own beverages, but feel free to offer extras if you like. Use the club budget to cover costs—keep your receipts. Create a cozy vibe—light the fire, set out plates and napkins, and make it feel inviting. Greet guests and keep the energy going—no need for formal hosting, help everyone feel at home. Light cleanup—wipe down the kitchen counters and tidy up. Most folks will pitch in without being asked. More information
